2016 Legislative Session Begins

Yesterday was the opening day of the state legislative session. This is a short year (they adjourn May 4th) so things will move quickly. We already have a few gun-related bills to track. Remember, the full list of all the bills we’re following can always be found under “Pending Legislation” in the menu above, or at this link: https://blog.ccdl.us/2016-legislation/

  1. Once again (in H.B. 5054), they are attempting to remove the language that guarantees a person to have the right to be heard before a Judge; before a decision to remove someone’s property (firearms & ammo) is made.
It amazes me that ‘politicians’ are given the opportunity to present any Bill that would ‘remove’ any constitutional (protected rights) language that is there originally; to make sure that the GOV’T ‘ ‘Does Not’ violate a Citizen’s Constitutional Rights.
News Flash: The Constitution State once again wants to remove Constitutional Protection of it’s Citizens.
I hope & pray that the CT citizens realize (and fight against) the unconstitutional acts that these politicians are putting forward.

  2. What’s the change to the current law that SB-20 is being proposed. I’m not familiar with the current statute… Did they just change the blood alcohol content cutoff or something?
